Gwen Swennen

Biography

Professor Gwen Swennen received an MD degree in 1995 from the University of Antwerp and a DDS degree from the University of Brussels in 1998. He was trained in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery and Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in Hannover and Brussels. He obtained his “Habilitation” PhD degree at Hannover Medical School. His interests are orthognathic surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery and congenital malformations, with special interests in three-dimensional virtual imaging and treatment planning. He has published and lectured extensively on these topics nationally and internationally. He is a member of the Education Committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Editor of the “Imaging Section” of the International Journal of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery.
