The lecture covers low invasive treatment options of narrow mesio-distal spaces with small, 3.0 mm diameter implants. This implant type is indicated for single restorations in the esthetic zone in case of e.g. congenitally missing or traumatized upper laterals and lower incisors. Highlighting with two clinical cases, Dr Polizzi explains that use of 3.0 mm diameter implants in such indications can avoid bone augmentation procedures, provide excellent primary stability, offer platform shift, prosthetic versatility and proper design of a natural emergence profile.
Five year follow-up of narrow 3.0 mm diameter implants show good clinical results with 96.5% survival, stable marginal bone and healthy soft tissue throughout the follow-up period.
