Georg Watzek

Biography

Professor Georg Watzek received the MD degree, DDS degree and PhD and performed the the Speciality board examination in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, was Head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Dean of the University Clinic of Dentistry in Vienna up until 2012. He was for years President of the Austrian Society of Oral Surgery and Implantology and Acting President of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) 2003-2004 . His research and patient therapy has focused on all parts of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and in the last ten years especially on implantology and bone grafts in combination with implants. He is the author of more than 300 publications, including 9 textbooks.
