Hung-Chi Liao

Biography

Dr. Liao embarked on his journey in dentistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan), where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). Fueled by a passion for periodontal care, he pursued specialized training in the field of periodontology following his graduation. With his training background, he had the opportunity to deliver multiple lectures in Asian countries, where he discovered his passion for dental education. This quest led him to the United States, where he enrolled in the prestigious implant dentistry program at Loma Linda University (LLU) and earned his Master of Science Degree in Implant Dentistry (MSD). Over the course of three rigorous years, he immersed himself in advanced studies, honing his skills in comprehensive oral rehabilitation. Eager to share his knowledge and contribute to the field, he continues teaching as a full-time faculty at the dental school, where he imparts his expertise to the next generation of dental professionals.

Dr. Liao is actively engaged in research, notably in collaboration with esteemed industry pioneer Dr. Joseph Kan. Together, they spearhead multiple projects focused on esthetic implant dentistry, with a particular emphasis on immediate implant placement and provisionalization of maxillary anterior implants. Dr. Liao and his team have integrated cutting-edge digital workflows into their treatment protocols, all while meticulously measuring outcomes for research purposes.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, Dr. Liao holds diplomate status with both the American Board of Implantology (ABOI) and the Academy of Osseointegration (AO). He is currently practicing in Southern California.
