The Zirconia Implant Bridge
Video highlights
- History of Zirconia
- Different types of Zirconia
- How to handle the material
- Full contour Zirconia restorations
- Optical physical and biological properties
In his virtual lecture, Dr Markus Blatz reviews the history of Zirconia and how the material has developed over the years, also debunking some myths. He addresses the importance of understanding the different types of Zirconia in order to know how to handle the material for different types of restorations. Dr Blatz presents the option to use Zirconia for full contour restorations, and how to ensure the precision of fit of large restorations. He finishes his lecture with addressing the biological properties of the material.
Questions
Ask a questionHow does the zirconia bridge connect to the titanium abutments? Are there pictures or illustrations of these connections?
At what tolerances are these prosthetic connectors, implant connections and prostheses manufactured?
At what tolerances are these prosthetic connectors, implant connections and prostheses manufactured?
Thank you for the question. They connect mechanically, which I consider the ideal since there is no cement involved. And yes, there are illustrations on the manufacturer website. (Posted by moderator on behalf of author, Dr. Markus Blatz)
In case of full mouth upper and lower fixed complete denture, Is it possible with new 5 % mol zr to choose zr on both arces
Is there a contra indication of using full bridge zirconia on implants for patients suffering from Bruxism ?
In reply to Is there a contra indication of using full bridge zirconia on implants for patients suffering from Bruxism ? by ELYES KHAROUF
Thank you for the question. Unless it is an extreme form of bruxism, there is no contraindication as long as it is properly designed (adequate restoration/connector thickness and occlusal contacts in zirconia) and occlusal/functional contacts are well balanced.
