How can we treat patients more effectively, and with a better outcome? Dr Wöhrle presents how to optimize treatment planning with the final prosthetic design in mind, minimize surgical and prosthetic errors, optimize patient communication, and explains an integrated, digital workflow. Treatment starts with the diagnostic data acquisition. NobelClinician smart fusion technology allows to combine and merge radiographic volumetric examination data with the clinical information, model and wax-up scan data. This data set can be done at any time in one appointment, allows to understand anatomy, plan final prosthetic position, number and position of implants, need for grafting and other treatment parameters. When done during the first patient visit, the data assist in patient communication, informed consent and educated decision on best treatment options. Dr Wöhrle reviews the treatment steps presenting a complex patient case with 4 implants in the maxilla incisor area. The virtual treatment planning and guided surgery approach allow precise placement of the implants and fabrication of individual ceramic abutments and temporary crowns prior to the surgical intervention, ready for immediate provisionalization after surgery. The temporary crowns allow to maintain the soft tissue, which is crucial for an esthetic result.

Using a fully guided template how would you control the depth in placing an implant ?It makes lot of sense in controlling the drill mesio distally or Bucco lingually but how would you see the implant shoulder when you have guide in the mouth .
