- Macao 2015 symposium presentation
Dr Peng covers aspects of patient communication and patient acceptance for the implant-based rehabilitation of edentulous patients. A key point is to make the treatment and treatment plan easy to understand for the patient. Removing rather than saving questionnable teeth, limiting the number of implants placed can make a treatment plan easier and better understandable for patients, shorten treatment time, avoid grafting procedures and reduce cost. Dr Peng recommends the placement of 4 to 6 implants, if indicated combined with an alveolectomy to facilitate esthetics in the transition zone and followed by immediate loading. Dr Peng emphasizes, that satisfied patients are the best way to gain new patients by word of mouth referrals.
