Markus Blatz: Prosthetic parameters and materials for anterior implant esthetics
Video highlights
- Availability of new materials and techniques requires smart decision making
- Insights in material selection and restoration design
- CAD/CAM precision of fit requires great accuracy in the clinical procedures
- New York 2013 Symposium presentation
There is not one material suitable for all patients and the availability of new materials and techniques requires smart decision making to achieve the objective of a prosthetic restoration: to mimic nature as close as possible. Treatment planning therefore is key. Dr Blatz gives insight the various aspects which play a role in esthetic restoration design, covering aspects of material selection, framework and emergence profile design, esthetic parameters, cement- and screw retained construction, provisionalization and the advantages of CAD/CAM technology. Dr Blatz points out that the great accuracy CAD/CAM technology provides from a laboratory perspective, on the other hand requires high accuracy in the clinical procedures as well e.g. regarding impression techniques.
