Luís Senís: An innovative graftless approach for oral rehabilitation in the pterygomaxillary region

Due to bone resorbtion in atrophic maxillary cases, low bone density and reduced bone height is commonly presented in the posterior region. Different techniques have been used to solve these cases, with or without bone augmentation. The pterygomaxillary region has been found to have high bone density and is therefore considered suitable for implant placement with pterygoid implants. This lecture will guide you through the history and the present scientific knowledge of pterygoid implants. It will also show the PARP concept, a tool to evaluate your case and choose the proper surgical technique in the maxillary posterior region to achieve successful results and discuss the suitable choices of implants and restorative options.

Dr. Senís has a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Valencia. He is specialist in maxillofacial surgery and implantology, a team member of the Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Hospital La Fe de Valencia and collaborator at the University of Valencia in the Department of Anatomy, chaired by Prof Martinez-Soriano, with research on anatomic regions linked to maxillofacial surgery and implantology. He works in a private practice, with dedication to implantology and with special focus on advanced cases. Dr. Senís is the Medical Director at Grupo Clinico Dental Doctor Senís. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SECOM) and author of several publications in national and international magazines as well as an author of several communications in national scientific congresses.
