- Macao 2015 symposium presentation
Dr. Wong shares his insights on several major aspects of posterior implant rehabilitation. Both the surgical and prosthetic features of the treatment plan are covered: type, size, number and distribution of implants, prosthetic and abutment design, material selection, hygiene considerations, and more. Anatomical limitations and reduced bone height favor the use of shorter implants. Abutment margin location has a considerable influence on amount of excess cement; therefore, either a custom abutment following the gingival scalloping, or a screw-retained restoration are preferred. Challenges with screw access axis or limited inter-arch space can be overcome by using an angulated screw channel abutment.
Dr. Wong received a BDS degree from the National University of Singapore and an MSD degree and Certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Washington. He was honored for his outstanding presentation at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in Universal City. In recognition of his Esthetic Dentistry achievements, he was invited by the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry and the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry to speak at their scientific meeting in Venice. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and he lectures worldwide. Dr. Wong is Director and Founder of the T32 Dental Centre and his practice focuses on restorative care, including cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics.
