FOR Humanitatian Project (Rapa Nui): Restoring Smiles - Part III

Part 3 of our Rapa Nui video series highlights the profound impact of our humanitarian project on the lives of patients in the Rapa Nui community.

For nearly a decade, the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation (FOR), in collaboration with Nobel Biocare and the dedicated efforts of Dr. Ruben Rosenberg, has been addressing the urgent dental health crisis faced by the residents of Easter Island. With a population of approximately 7,800 and only three resident dentists, the community has long struggled with inadequate access to essential dental care.

The high incidence of edentulism, particularly among individuals over 60, poses significant health challenges that extend beyond oral health. As noted by Dr. Rosenberg, “Patients suffering severe tooth loss often lack the ability to maintain proper nutrition,” underscoring the life-altering consequences of untreated dental issues.

In this video, we invite you to hear the heartfelt testimonies of those whose lives have been transformed through the efforts of all involved in this project. Each story is a poignant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the vital importance of compassionate care. The smiles we restore are not merely cosmetic; they represent renewed confidence, improved health, and a brighter future for individuals who have endured years of hardship.

As we embark on our ninth expedition, we reaffirm our commitment to this essential work. The dedication of Dr. Rosenberg and his team exemplifies the core values of FOR, emphasizing that humanitarian projects are not just an aspect of our mission—they are a fundamental pillar of our purpose.

We remain steadfast in our resolve to provide life-changing dental care to underserved communities, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to achieve optimal oral health and well-being. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference, one patient at a time
