The lecture discusses the principles for tissue preservation in implant restoration and highlights their importance for the esthetic result. The goal is to create healthy and stable soft tissue framing around the implant and restoration. Dr Euwe presents single implant replacement and restoration in the esthetic zone and the dominant 4 influencing elements bone, soft tissue, prosthesis and adjacent teeth. The provisional restoration is key to shape, support and stabilize the soft tissue and emergence profile, and create an optimal three dimensional soft tissue configuration, if necessary supported by soft tissue grafts and bone augmentation techniques. Remnants of cement excess might be a risk for tissue health, so screw retained full ceramic monoblocks are the esthetic restoration of choice.
