Christian Coachman: CAD/CAM material selection for esthetic restorations from a restorative and soft tissue perspective
Video highlights
- Soft tissue management
- Esthetics
- Interdisciplinary teamwork
- Provisionalization
- CAD/CAM prosthetics
The lecture presents esthetic reconstruction principles in the anterior maxilla and discusses the challenge to integrate white and pink esthetics - soft tissue and tooth restoration. Dr Coachman presents a clinical case with an implant based crown restoration on an upper central incisor, and a crown restoration on the adjacent central incisor and highlights how CAD/CAM technology acts as a platform for treatment planning and material selection for clinician and technician. The soft tissue emergence profile can be formed with the provisional or like in this case, with the final CAD/CAM Zirconia abutment which has been designed in the lab to ideal soft tissue contour. The lecture gives insights in the CAD/CAM design, production, lab protocols and esthetic full ceramic material options like Zirconia and Lithiumdisilicate.
