Guided bone regeneration as a concept and in practice has been prevalent for many years and has yielded scientific evidence useful to assist the clinician in choosing the right technique for the right clinical situation. In this presentation, basic principles of guided bone regeneration will be briefly presented. Specifically, how guided bone regeneration can be used to prevent bone loss and to manage bone loss around an ailing implant will be presented.
Graduated from the University of Dental Surgery (Toulouse III) in 1999 and prize-winner of the University in 2003, Dr Carole Leconte exercised in 2003-2005 both in the hospital (stomatology service of Hopital de Bligny, ) and a liberal practice. Since 2005, she has an exclusive practice in oral surgery, periodontics and implantology. She is also an international speaker and has published several articles. Her main topics are related to: esthetic, biomaterials, immediate extraction setting-up, muco-gingival transplants.
