Alina Krivitsky: Developing the ideal site for implant placement using bone graft substitute and GBR
Video highlights
- Hard and soft tissue changes following extraction
- Simplification of bone graft material selection
Dr. Krivitsky discusses the importance of site development for implant placement. She reviews the pattern of resorption following extraction and the important role bone graft plays in preserving the bone architecture. Her focus is on two specific challenges: immediate challenges following extraction referring to hard tissue changes, and late challenges referring to soft tissue changes.
With so many types of bone graft materials available the selection of the correct material can be daunting. Dr. Krivitsky discusses a classification to help simplify this selection. Utilizing the information discussed in this lecture, the formation of a positive three-dimensional architecture around implants can be created with predictable success.

Ask a questionWhat are the dimensions of the bone 6 monts, 1 year, 2 years after the procedure?
Any radiographs of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years after the placement of this bonegraft + implant? I'd like to now more about the long-term stability with this material and procedure.

Nobel biocare
Partial thickness flap with sharp dissection
W-TRC you can try

what was the kind of membrane which you used ? and is it safe to keep it with out fixation ? great job
Xenoprotect from Nobel biocare. The membrane becomes sticky and lays down well against the bone. If the membrane move upon flap movement, then use tacks or suture to keep it in place
Good morning from Colombia dear colleague. When and why do you prefer sticky bone vrs bone graft with patient ‘s bloo and when
In the last case. Can you place the implant and do the bucal bone graft at the same time ? . Or Do the bone graft first?
continuing the question. After the bone graft wait for the right time to place the implant .
Excelent job
congratulations!

Hi. If you can place the implant in a good prosthetic position with proper initial stability, you should be able to combine both steps in 1 procedure. Usually 4 months of healing is enough
hope that helped
