Complete-arch treatments
(Maxilla /
Edentulous)
Fixed rehabilitation of an edentulous maxilla
A 62-year-old male presented with tooth #16 FDI (#3 US). He had previously been told he was not a candidate for fixed teeth without bone grafting and phasing treatment over many months. Despite the lack of bone volume posteriorly, he had sufficient volume anteriorly and an abundant amount of keratinized tissue making him a good candidate for an All-on-4® treatment concept with a hybrid restoration, which utilizes Zygomatic implant(s) in conjunction with standard sized implants placed in the maxilla. He was reconstructed using this technique with a fixed provisional acrylic prosthesis placed in an immediate function.
