Hong Kong Study Club Series - 25th March, 2025

Join us for an engaging and interactive study club event, focusing on the decision-making process for posterior implant placement. 

The evening will begin with two expert-led lectures that provide a step-by-step walk through of a Posterior Implant Placement Decision Tree. Each speaker will address a specific branch of the process. Following the lectures, attendees will participate in small group case discussions, applying the decision tree to real-world mock cases. Speakers will guide the discussion, offering expert feedback and practical solutions to refine your clincal decision-making skills. This study club provides a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge, collaborate with peers, and learn from experts in periodontics and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Whether you're new to implant dentistry or looking to enhance your expertise, this event is not to be missed!

Speakers

BDS(HKU), MSc(U of Maryland), Cert in Perio (U of Maryland), Diplomate of American Board of Periodontology Dr. Jack Ji graduated from the University of Hong Kong and completed his master in Biomedical Science in University of Maryland in 2017. He has also attained both certificates in Periodontics and Implant Periodontal Prosthodontics. He was awarded Richard J. Lazzara Fellowship in Advanced Implant Surgery by American Academy of Periodontology Foundation in 2017, and became a Diplomate of American Board of Periodontology in 2018. He is a fellow of International College of Dentists and member of American Academy of Periodontology and European Academy of Osseointegration. Dr Ji serves as Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Hong Kong and Clinical Instructor and Dean’s Faculty in the University of Maryland. His clinical interest includes prevention and management of peri-implant complications, soft tissue microsurgeries, and digital dentistry.
BDS(HK), MDS(OMS)(HK), MOSRCS(Edin), AdvDipOMS (HK), FDSRCS(Edin), FDSRCPS (Glasg) FHKAM(DS), FCDSHK(OMS) Dr Alfred Lau is one of the directors in Branemark Osseointegration Centre of Hong Kong. He is also an honorary clinical associate professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Hong Kong and Honorary consultant in Queen Mary Hospital for both undergraduates and postgraduates teaching. He is currently the honorary consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital. Dr Lau holds the position of the President of the Hong Kong Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons since 2016. He is also the founder and Past President of Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and he is actively working in promoting OMS around the region. Currently, he is also appointed as the Chairperson of the NextGen section and an Executive Committee member of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He serves as a Councilor of both the Asian and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also holds the position of Vice President of Hong Kong Society of Sedation and Anesthesia in Dentistry and committee member of Young Dentist Group of HKDA and a Regional Faculty of the AOCMF in Asia Pacific Region. He Serves as a Dental Council examiner and a trainer in OMS for the college of dental surgeons of Hong Kong.
