All-on-4® treatment concept using TiUltra™ surface implants and Multi-unit Xeal™ Abutments: Pilot study report
Summary
Pilot clinical study on anodized implant (TiUltra) and abutment (Xeal) surfaces
The All-on-4 treatment concept represents a protocol for Immediate Function rehabilitation of fully edentulous jaws that has been shown to deliver good long-term outcomes. However, the anodized surfaces Xeal and TiUltra recently developed to enhance Mucointegration™ and osseointegration, respectively, have not yet been tested in this treatment protocol. This pilot study describes 1-year clinical and radiologic outcomes in 16 consecutive patients treated according to the All-on-4 treatment concept with NobelParallel CC TiUltra implants and Xeal Multi-unit Abutments.
Results
-
Excellent implant survival and success rates of 100%
-
Low mean marginal bone loss of 0.46 mm from implant insertion to 1-year follow-up
- Healthy and stable soft tissue response throughout the study follow-up
Clinical relevance
The study presented here is the first clinical study documenting the novel anodized implant and abutment surfaces in the context of the All-on-4 treatment concept. The novel surfaces support healthy bone and soft tissue responses over the follow-up period of 1 year.
