Egon Euwe: Orthognathic implant dentistry
Video highlights
- Treatment approach for complex malocclusion cases
- Corrective implant supported therapy to reposition bone, gums and teeth
- 'Test-drive' with diagnostic dentures, fixed provisionals and gingival mock-ups
- New York 2013 Symposium presentation
The presentation gives an in insight in 'corrective implant supported therapy on patients with downhill dentition with malocclusion' and how to reposition bone, gums and teeth. Dr Euwe reviews the treatment goals: enhance esthetics, establish class 1 occlusion, align and level arches, reestablish symmetry in the buccal corridor, establish midline, overbite and overjet, normalized function and phonetics, improve lip support, closure and profile, tooth exposure and smile. Highlighting with patient case examples Dr Euwe shows, that in these extreme cases the implant supported prosthesis corrects the anterior mismatch and optimizes the oral-facial complex. Backward planning is key, considering treatment goals, materials, implant positions, bone regeneration, biotype improvement. The prosthetic reconstruction has to be 'test-driven' with diagnostic dentures and fixed provisionals, which also support shape of soft tissue profile.
