FOR Hong Kong Study Club Series

Welcome to the FOR Hong Kong Study Club Series!

Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation is proud to announce FOR Hong Kong Study Club Series.  This is a series of dinner events, offering dental professionals, students, and clinicians to come together to advance their knowledge in the field of oral rehabilitation, through expert-led discussions and peer-to-peer exchange.

 

Our Objectives:

  • Foster Knowledge: Our study club aims to provide an inclusive environment where members can share knowledge, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions on various topics related to oral rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate and Connect: Network with like-minded individuals, participate in group discussions, and collaborate on innovative projects that push the boundaries of our field.
  • Promote Continuous Learning: Stay informed with the latest advancements, research, and techniques in oral rehabilitation through our regular study sessions.

FOR Hong Kong Study Club Series speaker line-up

Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery who has been practising implant dentistry for 30 years with expertise in immediate implant loading, zygomatic implants, guided surgery, and navigation. Dr. Chow has been doing immediate loading since 1996. Currently, Dr. Chow is the a board member of The Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation FOR and the Chairman of FOR China Chapter Council. He is also the honorary associate professor of the University of Hong Kong and Shanghai Jiaotong University. Besides running his clinical practice, Dr. Chow is a renowned international speaker, who has published over 30 articles and book chapters in peer review journals and textbooks. 
Dr Alfred Lau is one of the directors in Branemark Osseointegration Centre of Hong Kong. He is also an honorary clinical associate professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Hong Kong and Honorary consultant in Queen Mary Hospital for both undergraduates and postgraduates teaching. He is currently the honorary consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital. Dr Lau holds the position of the President of the Hong Kong Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons since 2016. He is also the founder and Past President of Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and he is actively working in promoting OMS around the region. Currently, he is also appointed as the Chairperson of the NextGen section and an Executive Committee member of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He serves as a Councilor of both the Asian and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also holds the position of Vice President of Hong Kong Society of Sedation and Anesthesia in Dentistry and committee member of Young Dentist Group of HKDA and a Regional Faculty of the AOCMF in Asia Pacific Region. He Serves as a Dental Council examiner and a trainer in OMS for the college of dental surgeons of Hong Kong. 
Dr Ching is a General Practitioner. He graduated from the National Defense Medical Center, Taiwan in 1980 and obtained residence training including Oral Surgery, Periodontology, Prosthetic Dentistry and Orthodontics in Veteran General Hospital, Taipei from 1980-1983. He had served as teaching assistant in the Dental School of National Yang Ming University, Taiwan. He started his implant career from 1997 and has completed hundreds of both surgery and prosthetic cases. He has lectured extensively in dental implantology and hand on courses in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. He has been the Director of the Aesthetic Dental Implant Centre, Hong Kong since 2004, where the centre serves as a training centre.

Dr. Ji graduated from the University of Hong Kong Summa Cum Laude and completed his master in Biomedical Science in University of Maryland in 2017. He has also attained both certificates in Periodontics and Implant Periodontal Prosthodontics. He was awarded Richard J. Lazzara Fellowship in Advanced Implant Surgery by American Academy of Periodontology Foundation in 2017 and became a Diplomate of American Board of Periodontology in 2018. He is a fellow of International College of Dentists and member of American Academy of Periodontology and European Academy of Osseointegration. 
Dr Ji serves as Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Hong Kong and Clinical Instructor and Dean’s Faculty in the University of Maryland. His clinical interest includes prevention and management of peri-implant complications, soft tissue microsurgeries, and digital dentistry.
Dr. Loretta Ching is a highly accomplished dental professional with an impressive educational background and extensive expertise in implant dentistry. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The University of Hong Kong and further advanced her knowledge by obtaining a Master of Science in Dentistry (Advanced Education Program in Implant Dentistry) from Loma Linda University. Dr. Ching holds a Certificate in Implant Dentistry (Prosthetics and Surgery) from the Academy of Osseointegration and is a Diplomate Specialist recognized by the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry in California, USA. Additionally, she has attained Diplomate status with the Academy of Osseointegration and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. With her vast experience and dedication to the field, Dr. Ching is a distinguished leader and educator in oral rehabilitation and implant dentistry.
Dr. Yeung is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics in Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1990 and completed his master’s degree in Prosthetic Dentistry in 1993. Dr. Yeung is a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, Royal College of Surgeons of England (UK), and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Prosthodontics). He is also a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong (Prosthodontics), and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Dental Surgery). Dr. Yeung has been a part-time clinical lecturer in the Discipline of Oral Rehabilitation, Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong since 1994, teaching undergraduates and postgraduates. He currently serves as a Specialist Trainer on the Specialist Board in Prosthodontics of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong.
