Tristan Staas: Treatment options in the upper jaw

The lecture describes the treatment options in edentulous cases with a focus on the upper jaw and structures the concepts in anatomical situations with major bone loss, moderate bone loss and no/minimal bone loss. Highlighting with clinical examples for each of these situations Dr Staas presents the available treatment concepts with advantages and challenges. In cases with major bone loss, removable and fixed-removable solutions can avoid bone augmentation, offer adequate lip support, easy maintenance and cost efficiency. With moderate bone loss, fixed solutions can be considered, however are demanding to maintain for the the patient. With minimal bone loss, fixed solution offer high white and pink esthetics, tissue friendliness and patient comfort.
