Maxillary and mandibular implant- and tooth-supported restorations

A 60-year-old male patient's chief complaint was that his bridges were loose. To pursue the patient's complaint, a treatment option of a 3-unit implant fixed partial denture and 3 single crowns on tooth abutments in the maxilla, and a conventional 6-unit fixed partial denture in the anterior mandible was chosen. In the beginning, the existing bridges had to be removed to evaluate the future abutment teeth. After the questionable teeth were examined and treated (new post with composite resin core in the maxillary left incisor and new composite resin core in the maxillary left canine) impressions were made and diagnostic wax patterns were formed. 

The implants were placed in the maxilla with help of a resin template. After sufficient healing time, implant level impressions of the 3 maxillary anterior implants and the 3 previously prepared teeth were made. A metal-ceramic implant fixed partial denture and three single crowns were then fabricated and placed in the maxilla. For retrievability, the implant-supported FPD was supplied with lingual retention screws. In the mandible, a conventional 6-unit FPD was inserted.
