Edentulous patient rehabilitated with implant retained restorations
A 63-year-old female patient was in a good general state of health without medical conditions potentially impacting the surgeries or the longevity of the restorations. The patient‘s chief complaint was the severe impact on function and chewing following extensive periodontal breakdown associated with significant mobility of numerous teeth. For several years the progress of periodontal inflammation was associated with pain and discomfort. A mandatory requirement by the patient expressed prior to treatment initiation was „never to be without teeth and not having to wear a removable denture at any time during treatment“. This was primarily driven by the patients occupation as a translator.
